I do think the view is beautiful but sitting near kitchen was extremely noisy and lots of grill smoke and smells that I would like to have been on other end of deck- just a note if you ever decide to visit. I will definitely go back to the lower level - surfing pig for our next meal there.
For the cost of our evening which was almost $500 we did not feel the value for food was there. Two others had Halibut and enjoyed the fish but the dish came with no vegetables or potatoes or anything as a side nor did we see any options to order any. We were not offered cheese to top and this dish felt like it was lacking in taste. We dined at Swine Bar for a family member’s birthdayįood was overall good although I and another had the special bolognese pasta with beef, veal and manchengo cheese, we didn’t care for flavor and didn’t see or taste any cheese. Long and short - two visits, both outstanding, would highly recommend and will return again soon. My husband is a talker and likes to chat up everybody, and the staff have been so nice and conversational both times (Taylor last visit and Natalie this visit).įinally, a friend of mine seemed to think it was "pricey" but I don't think that the Swine Bar is any bit more expensive than most fine dining at the shore, and certainly you get what you pay for. My husband had the wine this visit and the Cape May seltzers last visit - very few places carry those seltzers even though they are locally produced! I appreciate a place that carries local products. Last time I had the paloma, which I felt was a little strong, but maybe that's just my relationship with tequila! I had the traditional martini, and it was so good I had a second one. This time, I'm not sure if it was because they are short staffed (end of season), but the courses were a little more spread out, which I enjoyed.Ĭocktails are consistently good. The last time felt a little bit rushed, not in a bad way, but I would have preferred a little time to sit and digest. He even asked for a different preparation for the flounder (mushrooms, not tomatoes) and the chef accommodated him without any issue. This time, he had the calamari and the flounder. My husband had different meals both times - first visit, he had the burrata and peaches and the veal entree. The clams were fresh and flavorful and the cocktail sauce was an excellent complement. However, at the Swine Bar the steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I always order steak rare, and on a recent visit to a "steakhouse" it was extremely overcooked. I had the exact same meal (clams on the half shell and Angus sirloin) - both times everything was perfect. My husband and I went - our second time this August. This was our second time at the Swine Bar, and I honestly thought it might have been even better than the first one. It's like drinking right from the orange.
